Keep Communities Safe

16 Oct Keeping Communities Safe

Keeping the apartment community safe and its residents healthy is of top importance for property management across the nation.  Communication Is so important with apartment staff, residents, clients or owners, and contractors or others entering the premises.  Share resources and information as often as possible by phone, email, or online websites on current procedures and policies. Be sure that everyone understands the need for social distance to stay safe.

  • Keeping common areas spotless and germ-free is next to impossible, but you can increase cleaning frequency and the quality of products being used, hitting high-traffic areas often, and posting signs about washing your hands and not touching your face.
  • Limit the types of maintenance requests where staff respond and make sure all staff wears face masks and gloves when situations arise where they must enter an apartment.
  • Remember that subcontractors can play a vital role in the success of your business. Take time to check in with your supplier partners and offer words of encouragement.

There are many, many things to consider to keep everyone safe. See this article from IREM President Cheryl Gray where she answers frequently asked questions about how to best manage property during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
